Photographers have an inherent edge on Instagram due to its visual nature. You are able to share images from behind-the-scenes of shoots and ordinary photos that reflect your style. The body of photographs you have become a portfolio and Instagram is the best place to publish your digital portfolio, all of that material can help you find clients and build a network.
I have created two Instagram profiles, one is for the type of photograph I do and enjoy, portraiture, still life, and architecture. The other profile is dedicated to my final and ongoing project, ‘The Hijab Diaries’. On both these platforms I post behind the scenes of shoots and the editing process of images. I utilise Instagram as a marketing platform for my photography and is a great space for building a consumable portfolio.
